Flows Billing, Add-Ons, & Transactions FAQs

This article answers common questions about Flows billing, Transaction usage, and Add-On packs in Knack.

Who has access to Flows and Transactions?

Access to Flows and Transaction information is currently restricted to the Knack account owner. Shared Builders are unable to view the Flows tab within the Knack app. Shared Builder access will be available in a future update.

How do I know how many Transactions I've used?

You can view your current Flows Transaction usage in Plans and Billing in the Knack Dashboard. The Plan Usage widget shows how many Transactions have been used, how many remain, and the total Transaction count for your plan.

For a more detailed view, the History tab within the Flows Builder shows all Transactions across your account.

What happens if I exceed my planned Transaction amount?

If you exceed your monthly Transaction limit, the Auto-Increase setting in the Plan & Billing section of the Knack Dashboard automatically adds 1,000 Transactions for $19, ensuring your Flows continue running without interruption. You can manage or remove this add-on before the next billing cycle if needed.

Can I combine multiple Add-On Transaction packs?

Yes. You can purchase multiple Add-On Transaction packs to meet your needs. For example, if you need an additional 20,000 Transactions, you can purchase two 10,000-Transaction packs at $99 each.

What does a Transaction include in Flows?

A Transaction is counted each time an Action step is performed in a Flow — such as sending a notification, updating a record, or making an HTTP request. Trigger steps (such as when a record is created) do not count toward Transactions.

How do I view a breakdown of my Transactions?

Use the Flow Log within each Flow to view step-by-step Transaction details. For a complete overview across all your apps, check the History tab in the Flows dashboard, where you can filter by date and see which steps have been executed.

How does billing work if I change my Knack plan?

If you upgrade or downgrade your Knack plan, your Add-On Transaction packs remain intact and continue to apply to your new plan. If you remove an Add-On pack, the change takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

When are Add-On Transactions charged?

If you use the Auto-Increase feature or manually purchase an Add-On Transaction pack, you are charged immediately to the card on file. After the initial charge, recurring fees align with your Knack plan payment date.

For annual plan customers, Add-On Transactions are charged monthly on the purchase date until your next annual invoice date, at which point charges sync to your annual billing cycle.

Example: If you add Transactions on May 13th and your Knack plan renews on February 5th, you will be charged on May 13th, June 13th, July 13th, and so on. After the following February 5th, your Add-On charges will sync to the 5th of each month.
