Managing Your Account Settings

Your account settings control key aspects of your Knack account, including your organization details, security options, and account status. This article explains how to manage these settings from your Knack Dashboard.

What You'll Learn

You'll discover how to update your organization information, manage your account status (including freezing or canceling), and enhance security with password management and two-factor authentication. These administrative tools help you maintain your Knack account efficiently and securely.

Settings: Account Tab

The Account tab in Settings contains cards that let you manage your organization's profile, automation behavior, and AI feature access. To access these settings, navigate to Settings → Account from your Knack Builder.

Organization Info

The Organization Info card displays your account-level details, including your organization name, account ID, and other identifying information. Use this section to review or update your organization's profile as needed.

Flows Settings

The Flows Settings card contains configuration options related to your account's automation flows. Adjust these settings to control how automated processes behave across your apps.

AI Access Controls

The AI Access Controls card gives Account Owners a single toggle to enable or disable AI-powered app creation and editing across the entire account.

Allow Apps to Be Created and Edited with AI

When this toggle is on (the default), Builders can create and edit apps using AI, and Shared Builders can edit apps using AI. This includes features like the AI app generator and any AI-assisted editing tools available in the Builder.

When this toggle is off, all options to create and edit apps with AI are disabled account-wide. No users — regardless of role — will see or have access to AI creation or editing features.

When to Use This Setting

This control is designed for Account Owners who need to restrict AI feature access for compliance, data security, or organizational policy reasons. For example, accounts managing FERPA-protected student records, healthcare data subject to HIPAA, or other regulated information may want to disable AI features to ensure that sensitive data is not processed through AI-powered tools.

Turning off AI access does not affect other Builder functionality. All manual app creation, editing, and configuration tools remain fully available.

Key Details

  • Who can change this setting: Account Owners only.
  • Scope: This is an account-level setting. It applies to all apps and all users within the account.
  • Default state: On (AI features are enabled).
  • What it disables: AI app generation, AI-assisted app editing, and any related AI options in the Builder interface.
  • What it does not affect: Manual app building, existing app functionality, page editing, data management, and all other non-AI features.

Account Management

The Management tab provides options for changing your account status, including freezing or deleting your account.

To access this section:

  1. Go to your Knack Dashboard
  2. Select "Account" from the Settings dropdown
  3. Click on the Management tab

Freezing Your Account

If you are not using your app but will need it in the future, you can freeze your account indefinitely at a discounted price. This preserves all your apps and data for when you need them again.

Frozen Plan Pricing:

  • Starter: $12/mo.
  • Pro: $25/mo.
  • Corporate: $40/mo.
  • Plus 1: $65/mo.
  • Plus 2: $100/mo.
  • Plus 3: $200/mo.

Note: You can only freeze paid accounts once per rolling year.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from the Knack Dashboard. Please note that we are unable to delete your account on your behalf.

Warning: Canceling your account will permanently delete your account, including all apps and data. This cannot be undone.

For additional information regarding our refund policy, check Section 7, "Fees; Payment Terms," in our Terms of Service.

Security Settings

The Security tab allows you to manage your password and two-factor authentication (2FA) settings.

Password Management

When updating your password, remember these requirements:

  • Must be at least 8 characters
  • Cannot be previously used
  • Passwords must match when confirming

Two-Factor Authentication

Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for additional account security. This requires both your password and a verification code when logging in.
